Learning Outcomes

  1. Identity-Driven Storytelling- Students craft and perform original theatrical scenes inspired by their lived experiences, cultural heritage, and social realities—using drama as a tool for self-expression, advocacy, and truth-telling. (Aligns with CA Theatre Standards TH:Cr1.1.HS–Cr2.1.HS)

  2. Collaborative Creation & Ensemble Practice- In collaborative groups, students co-write and stage performance pieces, building skills in ensemble work, inclusive dialogue, and shared authorship. (Aligns with TH:Cr3.1.HS & Pr4.1.HS)

  3. Intentional Design for Storytelling- Students design visual storytelling elements—props, symbolic costume details, or scenic environments—that elevate cultural significance and enhance dramatic meaning. (Aligns with Visual Arts Standards VA:Cr1.1.HS & Cr2.1.HS)

  4. Critical Reflection & Cultural Analysis- Learners engage in peer critique, self-assessment, and group discussion to evaluate how their work expresses identity, challenges stereotypes, and connects with real-world issues. (Aligns with TH:Re9.1.HS & Cn11.1.HS)

Success Story
"Peak theatre arts is an amazing org that was able to help students learn how to write, direct, perform and know all about theatre. What makes Peak Theatre Arts different is the ability to have had the students create their own play, allowing them to tap in and discover their greatest potential. Rather than have the students do an already written and established play, the kids got to create their own story from scratch. This is a component I loved about this org."

Equity Statement
At PEAK Theatre Arts, equity is at the heart of everything we do. We are committed to creating inclusive, affirming spaces where all young people, regardless of race, ethnicity, gender identity, ability, language, or socioeconomic background, can thrive creatively and personally. Our programs intentionally center voices and stories that have been historically excluded from traditional theatre spaces, ensuring that every student feels seen, heard, and valued. We believe that true learning happens when everyone has equitable access to opportunities, support, and the power of self-expression.
